Meet the Booze Basket. (And then WIN the Booze Basket!)

By Jesse on April 1, 2009

One day, Wino, this could all be yours….

(Tonight, actually, is when it could be yours.)

You’re looking at the 2009 Booze Basket — the fabulous grand prize to be awarded to the winner of this year’s March Madness blind tasting tournament.  With a total retail worth of $75, the basket is emblazoned with over 100 rare corks, and features three bottles which have been reviewed by the Winos over the past few months:

1) 2007 Lucas & Lewellen “Goodchild Vineyard” Chardonnay (Santa Barbara County)
2) 2005 Tolosa Winery Pinot Noir (Edna Valley)
3) 2007 Municipal Winemakers “Bright Red” (Santa Barbara County)

Click here, here or here for the respective reviews.

Going into tonight’s final championship round, the standings are as follows:

Andrew Lang – 22.0
Sasha Kopas – 20.5
Jesse Porter – 20.0
Noah Verleun – 19.0
Jason Meltzer – 18.5
Marissa Marchioni – 12.5
Nick Scown – 10.5
Kristen August – 9.0
Darren Earl – 8.5
Lily Stofman – 8.5
Liz Kelly – 8.0

Who’s gonna step it up and claim the Booze Basket?  Many will drink, but only one may win….
